Author Spotlight/Interview with Eva Lindke

Today my guest is Eva Lindke

A new emerging Southern New Jersey author, Eva Lindke is taking the Romance field by storm. Her novels fall into a category of their own, sultry. Her sultry novels are not as extensively graphic as erotic but hotter than what is normally considered steamy romance novels.

Eva is a unique mix of quiet restraint with a wild mind of romance and seduction. She is a unique individual who is turning out romance novels that are amazing and keep the reader on track.
The Pink Cove series is the Pinnacle of the sultry novel genre. It is a unique and racy private club where people either fear it or desire to be a part of it. The Pink Cove allows you to be free to experience your greatest desires without the fear of persecution for “normal” society.

Eva Lindke developed this genre out of a realization that a category of readers where not being reached. Now she is becoming more in demand and her readers can’t wait for the next installment of The Pink Cove clan to be released. Because of the genre Eva is somewhat of a recluse and only steps out from behind her computer or other devices for a few rare book appearances. But one look at Eva and you realize that she is as unique as her characters.

Eva loves to travel to new exotic locations but often favors those places surrounded by warm tropical water.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part I feel is having a confidence in the story you are telling. If you believe in your story then you can conquer anything.

Why do you think people should choose your books over another author?
My enthusiasm for my stories seems to drive people I meet. Though I have been published just two years my following is greater than I ever anticipated. I right what comes to mind and try to keep the reader engaged and wanting more.

How long have you been a writer?
This is a funny question. I have been writing since I was at least 15 but it wasn’t until I was reaching the big 40 that I decided to publish.

Do you write under more than one name? Why?
I write under three names to represent my personalities. Joanna Swank is the every day girl writing how to, marketing and family drama. Blanche Mae is the part of me fascinated with history so all of the romance books have a historical undertone. Which leaves Eva Lindke the sultry fun side that writes about people who do not discriminate based on sex, race or religion. The Pink Cove is the pinnacle series under Eva that explore the freedom to be who we want when we want without repercussion’s.

What books or authors have most influenced your life?
Jane Austen has been my guiding force since I was a young teen. Now I idolize Stephanie Laurens for her unique story telling.

Do you work on one project at a time? Or do you multi-task?
I have many novel ideas piled up in my brain and I am currently working on three projects. However I recommend that writers limit themselves to two so they remain focused.

Please share with us your future projects and upcoming releases.
 My current projects are:
The Pink Cove Vol II/Eva Lindke – The story continues with the saga of The Pink Cove gang - Coming June 2014
The Swank Legacy/Joanna Swank – A story surrounding the murder of my Great Grandfather in 1934 – Coming Nov 2014

The Pink Cove: Volume 1
Self Published by CreateSpace 2011

The series starts with the unusually sultry and provocative founder of The Pink Cove. Sandra is a woman who has seen the disaster and destruction of the rich and famous. For many years it was her job to hide their secrets and make their troubles disappear. Tired of that life Sandra retires and begins her own scandalous life at The Pink Cove. Mitch is enchanted by a seductive woman he met in an internet chat room. After moving their interludes out of cyber space Mitch becomes more enchanted. Now he is ready to move the relationship onto the next phase. But will Sandra’s secrets keep Mitch from accepting the woman society scorns.

The story continues when Lela finds herself in a legal and ethical battle from her youth. Some would see what she did as a crime and a disgrace. Lela views it as an act of art and self-expression. As she battles the courts to clear her of the charges of child pornography she learns that hiding who she is, is the real crime. Mikah is a man whose sole purpose in life is to protect is client and friend Grant from the glaring eyes of the nosy public. But when he meets Grant’s sister his life takes on a new battle of protecting both of their secrets from intrusive reporters. Along the way he finds himself lost in Lela’s complicated world with no hopes of escaping it.

How did I get so far behind? And why am I so happy about it?

Writing this I am not getting done the task I'm working on in another screen (one of 20 open on my computer right now.) Lately I can't get up in the morning (and I'm usually an early riser.) I'm dog tired by 3pm (and I'm not a napper.) I work with a trainer and it's a good thing because I just don't feel like working out. I don't want to eat right. My poor assistant keeps saying, "did you do that thing?" and no...I forgot. The house is a mess. The laundry is behind. Oh and I'm behind deadline on my next book. How crazy is all this? In fact, this blog never got its marketing information on Mondays finished. There is no surprise that sales are down.

Why even blog about this? Because with all this going on I'm deliriously happy.

What have I been doing and not getting my stuff done? Well...Christmas shopping, Christmas wrapping, I gave spelling tests to 3rd graders on Friday and then organized their Friday folders, I had lunch with a childhood friend and my friend who happens to be my C.O.O.. I spent most of last week at the ice rink for practices and most of the weekend at hockey games. For three nights I heard my son's high school choir and orchestra perform their Holiday Collage--a three hour, non stop, concert with all members of the vocal music and instrumental music departments. This a high class performance and worth $10 a ticket! I didn't miss a show. Last night we hosted fifty people for a hockey holiday party. What a great and wonderful night!!!

G's food drive!
Today I woke up hard. Face all swollen. Nose stuffy. Body aching and protesting the move out of bed. But hugging on all my boys before I sent them off to school eased all those aches. Seeing the number of trash bags I accumulated from all the food and drink and gift giving last night made me smile. An hour with a very dear friend filled my heart for days! Walking through the hall where my son his hosting a food drive (because
that is what he wanted to do for his Christmas present) I realize that no matter how behind or how tired I seem to be I'm living the dream life. I'm behind in my own home office, in my business I started, in a career I love. I'm surrounded by love and happiness. I'll have a day soon, I know, where I'll get everything caught up and I'll have time to spare for something else! And until then, I'll try to remember that every breath I breathe in is a bonus one! Every day I get to work and fall behind means I've given myself something to do tomorrow so I'd better make it to tomorrow!

I get down on myself about being behind a lot, but when I look at all the other wonderful things I got to be part of I can't be too mad. I guess I'll just keep plugging away until that next amazing moment comes along. To think about it my hubby will be home very soon...yep...that's stop-working worthy too!

Have a wonderful day and a very special moment!

Excerpt of The Library
Wade inserted the key into the deadbolt the same time he did every night. Only this time, the door glided open as though some unseen force had invited him inside. The house was quiet. Too quiet. Usually he’d hear the sound of the TV, a kitchen timer alerting that dinner was ready, or the constant boom from the stereo upstairs. But this evening, tomblike silence greeted him.
She’d threatened to leave; he just hadn’t believed her. After all, she’d been grumbling that same nonsense for twenty-two years. A romantic getaway for two would straighten her out.
Their only child was going off to grad school in a few weeks. So for the first time in their marriage, they’d be childless. His life had changed the night she told him she was pregnant two weeks away from high school graduation, but it hadn’t stopped him from working his butt off to accomplish his dreams. Yeah, he had to work two jobs, go to night school, and function without sleep, but they’d made it. They had a beautiful house in Edenbury, Pennsylvania, two stylish vehicles in the driveway, and their daughter was heading off to Harvard.
And as soon as he finalized the contract he’d been working on for the last year, Wade could take Vanessa on as many getaways as she wanted. He’d cashed the first check on his way home. Just the first installment was more than they’d made their first ten years of marriage. That’d get her eyes twinkling again.
Burnt meatloaf singed his nostrils as he ventured into the kitchen in search of his wife. She killed their dinner again. His wife would get so busy typing she’d forget everything around her.
He turned off the oven, but left the charcoaled mess inside. Last thing he needed was the new smoke detector he’d installed to go off, once again alerting the neighbors how often his wife nearly burned down their house.
Wade emptied his pockets of his money clip, keys, and receipts onto the credenza by the stairway, as his wife had always requested, then started upstairs. “Vanessa honey,” he called as he trudged up the wooden steps, knowing she wouldn’t hear him, but he tried anyway. He gripped onto the banister, pulling himself forward. He was too tired to climb stairs before eating. But since she always wore her headphones when she worked, she wouldn’t hear if he screamed at the top of his range.
Tugging at his tie, he pushed open their bedroom door. Maybe they could have a quick romp before dinner, get a taste of what it’ll be like to be empty nesters.
Not believing his eyes, he launched headfirst toward his wife. “No!” he screamed.
Out of his peripherals, he saw the long black rod, but it was too late to react. The light extinguished the moment the object made contact with his skull, leaving him in a pit of blackness, a nightmare he’d never escape.
